Enabling Windpower through Local Trust - NGO Cooperation Project in Baltics & Ukraine, 2026-27
The main purpose of the “Enabling Windpower Through Local Trust” project is to contribute to enabling sustainable green transition through improving local community engagement practices during wind energy development in the Baltics and Ukraine, while also fostering network cooperations and shared learning across all partner countries. The project will include learning from real life challenges and problem solving approaches in community engagement, provided by the experienced Nordic partner INFORS-Europe.

Sub-goals are:
-
Gain relevant insights from real life experiences within the wind energy industry in the Nordic countries;
-
Elaborate a tailor-made approach for community engagement adapted to country-specific national contexts and formalise them in written guidelines;
-
Support a swift, fair and accepted renewable energy transition by disseminating best practice standards to a wide array of stakeholders.

“Enabling Windpower Through Local Trust” is organised by Green Liberty in Latvia; International Network for Sustainable Energy - Europe; Estonian Green Movement; Circular Economy in Lithuania; and EcoAction in Ukraine. The project is supported by Nordic Council of Ministers and Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia.
