Topic  

Role play game in the EU.

Goal
Learn about EU and national decision making on the field of energy.
Learn how to negotiate representing a country. How to agree in a crisis situation.
It was developed based on the success of the UN Climate Negotiation Role Playing Game.

Resources

Video. Language: Danish.

Task

The participants are ideally about: 18-30 people.

The roles are:
- Representatives (Ministers and State minister) of 5 countries: Poland, Denmark, France, Germany and Spain.
- Representative of the EU Commission
.

The material consist of
- teachers's guideline
- power point presentation

country information cards
- letter of the crises situation
- video


The game takes a day.

Description and Evaluation

The Role game was tested in 2 gymnasium in Denmark and there is a film made, which can be used to learn how to run the game.
All material can be dowloaded from the Educational Ministry's EMU's homepage.
