New Alliance for Cogeneration |
|
A new worldwide coalition for cogeneration for heat and power was formed in end of 1998. This new “International Cogeneration Alliance” (ICA) launched in February a blueprint for the power industry asking for further steps to promote the shift from centralised to localised power production. ICA is a trade association for cogeneration and local power production industries. It promotes competitive energy markets, and unlike many environmental organisations it supports the “flexibility mechanisms” (Emissions trading, joint implementation etc.) of the Kyoto Protocol.
