Report on Local Sustainable Energy Solutions and Policies
On August 30, 2023, a report was published, the result of more than a year of work by the international INFORSE coordinators, to identify the most important sustainable local solutions for energy access and climate action. The main solutions are:
– More efficient stoves/burners for wood and charcoal
– Improved high-efficiency wood stoves/burners
– High efficiency electric pressure cookers
– Efficient charcoal manufacturing
– Biomass briquettes/agricultural waste and charcoal dust
– Biogas on a domestic scale
– Home solar systems
– Minigrids
– Efficient use of light and electricity.
– Electric two-wheeled vehicles (bicycles, scooters)
– Electric three-wheeled vehicles/local transport.
– Solar dryers
