Wind Energy
In spite of the large wind-energy
potential in many Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries, the potential
has hardly been tapped.
The examples show, however, that it is used, and that windturbines are
produced, in CEE. With the decreasing prices of windturbines and the phase-out
of subsidies for traditional electricity producers, wind can be a very
important source of energy in CEE.Ultimately, wind can
produce more electricity than the entire CEE nuclear power sector produces
today.
